2013 Europe Photoblogger Meetup

Last September we enjoyed the city of Budapest by the hand of Balázs Sprenc. He prepared an awesome visit to the tunnel that is being constructed under the Danube and also guided us around the city. It was really nice to meet again some photobloggers who attended previous meetups and also meet more photography lovers around Europe. Many thanks to all of you for such a fantastic weekend.

Now, our friend George Hreniuc, who has the honor of attending all the meetups, is organizing the next one in Bucharest.

It will take place in Bucharest, Romania, on September 20-22nd 2013.

2012 Europe Photobloggers Meetup

Please fill in this short questionnaire if you are planning to come to Budapest. We need to know how many people is coming in order to choose the right place for the venue.

Friday (14 September 2012)

19:00 – 400 Bar in Kazinczy Street.

Let’s meet up and get to know each other.

21:00 – Photowalk: Budapest by night

Chain bridge (Lánchíd), night view of the city from the Buda Castle (Budai vár).

Saturday (15 September 2012)

09:15 – Photowalk

Meeting point: Fővám square

Itinerary:

Central Market Hall (Vásárcsarnok), Hungarian National Museum (Magyar Nemzeti Múzeum), Dohány Street Synagogue (Dohány Utcai Zsinagóga) – old Jewish district, St. Stephen’s Basilica (Szent István Bazilika), Budapest-Western Railway Terminal (Nyugati pályaudvar), Heroes’ Square (Hősök tere), official group photo, 1956 Memorial Square 56-osok tere, City Park (Városliget)

Sunday (16 September 2012)

10:00 – Photowalk

Meeting point: Roosevelt square

Itinerary:

Buda Castle District, photowalk on the riverside of the Danube. National Theatre and Palace of Arts (visiting the Robert Mapplethorpe exhibition there).

During this weekend we will use public transportation several times, so I recommend to buy a travel card or a Budapest Card.

2012 Europe Photobloggers Meetup

We are happy to announce that the Europe Photobloggers Meetup is back!

It will take place in Budapest, Hungary, on 14-16th September 2012.

Planning 2012 Meetup

It’s time to look forward! We were not able to organize the 2010-11 Meetup in the end, but this won’t happen again. So let’s start planning it:

Where do you fancy meeting us?

Some people in our discussion on Facebook proposed Amsterdam, Budapest or Vienna. Do you agree? Barcelona is always happy to welcome you too, but we can meet us in any european city. Express your wishes! Vote on Facebook.

It won’t be necessary to organize an exhibit or so. Something simple and practical. Decide where and when to meet there, catch up and take lots of photos.

This one, will be the one. No more delays :)

Hello 2010!

2009 was a bad year for our colective. Finally, we couldn’t make it to Budapest as we expected. Since then, no one knew if Europe Photobloggers was going to die or continue as always. Chrys moved to the USA, the site was hitted by spam and nobody seemed interested in continuing with the project. After a few mails with Chrys, we decided that Barcelona Photobloggers was going to design a new simple site and try to continue with the anual meetups.

The new site will have two purposes:

1. List and promote all the Europe based photoblogs
2. Organize a meetup every year.

We are using Facebook to discuss about the next 2010 meetup. Take a look to this thread and say what you think about it.

If you want to help somehow, please, contact us. We would really appreciate it. We already have lots of work with our local collective.

We want to seize the oportunity to be grateful with Chrys for his support.

The 2008 Meetup is over

Europe Photobloggers Meetup 2008The 2008 Meetup is officially over. Thanks to everyone who joined us in Barcelona. We hope you’ve had as much fun as us. Although at first the language barrier was a bit of a problem for some of us, after a few cervezas our English was near fluent, lol. We also want to thank our sponsors Lensbabies, DigitalToyShop, Photoblogs.org, Expressions, Gomma Magazine, LomoSpain, PictureCode and JPG Magazine! And finally, we’d like to thank Chrys for setting this site up and helping us out. Good luck in the States, mate! We’ll miss you! The meetup photos are starting to appear on everyone’s Flickr accounts, so be sure to check out the 2008epmeetup tag and the Europe Photobloggers group pool.

2007 EPM Berlin Video

I had the idea of making a video with all the photographs we took in Berlin and show it in the 2008 meetup. It remembered me what a nice weekend we had and I wanted to share it with you. We haven’t seen it very well at Maremagnum (very sorry), but don’t worry! You can download it (with music!!).

It’s a very simple video, but hope you like it.
