Right, I'm thinking this "Out Loud" so feel free to interrupt me...
Who might be interested in a Photo Hunt?
Here's what I'm thinking: the Berliners (and others that know Berlin) will put together a list of photo targets around the fun parts of town. There's a time limit - 3 hours is probably enough - and way more targets than can be photographed in that time.
We'll do it in teams of four or five, and the team that photographs the most targets in the allotted time wins. The prize will be something cool - what exactly remains to be determined.
Teams can't split up - all members must be in the picture featuring the target to be photographed. This could make for some interesting situations :-)
It might be a fun way to sight-see, while bonding with fellow photobloggers and showing some photographic skills.
So.... what do you all think?
Further... rather than just naming landmarks, it might add a twist by only providing clues or riddles - so rather than listing the Brandenburg Gate, we'd hint at the "base of the Quadriga" or something slightly less cryptic.
Fred, how was the Photo Marathon? Is it a viable model for our Photo Hunt?
I was thinking that we ought to add a twist - we're photobloggers, not just photographers. Maybe we should have to upload the images to Flickr or somewhere else, and the team that first completes the missions, or the most in the allotted time, will win. That would mean having to track down hot spots, like at cafes and other stores.
What do you think? We still have time, and I'm hearing some great ideas. Let's throw all ideas out there, and then we'll finalize the rules later on, just prior to the Hunt.
The problem with uploading it would be that we would need to take laptops and/or other equipment with us to get the photos online. This probably would take away a lot of time from the actual hunt.
It probably is better to wait till the end and then get all the photos from each displayed using a projector or something.
But those are just my thoughts
unfortunately, i wasn't able to attend the photo marathon so i guess i'm of no help in deciding if that particular format is viable for our get-together
